Sam Allen

Founding Attorney

Hello! I’m Sam Allen, founding attorney of Law Mom® and your neighborhood Personal Family Lawyer®.

I help families and business owners protect their loved ones, maintain control over their property and preserve their legacy!

I opened Law Mom® because I know firsthand how crucial wealth and guardianship planning is for families. In 2019 after the birth of my first son, I almost lost my life. And I didn’t have a plan in place to protect him if the worst happened. Thankfully I was given a second chance, and now I’m passionate about helping families like yours provide a secure future for their children and the next generation.
In 2021, I was named a Top Trusts and Estates Attorney by Boston Magazine, and my practice made the Best of South Shore Law Firm List. And in 2022, I was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction that only 2.5% of lawyers in Massachusetts are awarded.

I stay active in the community as a member of Wealth Counsel, a national organization of Trusts and Estates attorneys. I’m the President of Duxbury Newcomers Club, a philanthropic organization in my town. And I’m a proud member of the Women’s Business League, Boston Business Women, and Pillars of Profitability.

When I’m not with my clients, I’m renovating homes with my husband, raising awareness for childhood Type 1 Diabetes, and going on adventures with my two sons and their Lolli and Pops (also known as my parents!)

Amanda Wright

Senior Associate

Hello! I am Amanda Wright, an Associate with Law Mom. I am currently licensed to practice law in New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

As a multi-vocational professional, I served professionally in the areas of higher education law and compliance, guardianship, adoption/foster care, disability and accessibility law, medical malpractice, and Chapter 9 Bankruptcy. After my father was diagnosed with lymphoma and my grandmother passed away after living for ten years with dementia, I witnessed how stressful the estate planning, Medicaid planning, and the probate process can be for families. I discovered that the old way of planning for death and incapacity, especially planning for long-term care, was failing families.

I wanted better results for families like mine and decided to shift my legal focus entirely to serving people and families to help them protect their assets, and the people that they love. I am thrilled to be part of the Law Mom team because they use the best and most updated systems to help people and families prepare for transitions, emergencies, mature-care planning, and potential incapacity.

I pride myself in being a lifelong learner so that I can serve our community to the best of my ability. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law and earned my Master’s of Social Work from Boston College. I am a member of the Elder Counsel, and New York State Bar Association Elder Law & Special Needs Section and Trust & Estate Law Section.

I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can support your goals!

Mel McAleer

Welcome Coordinator

After graduating from Nichols College, Mel was eager to work within a company that genuinely cares about its clients and employees. Mel studied General Business with a focus on finance, accounting, and management, which taught her that many people don’t understand how their money could work for them. She felt that the same applied to Estate Planning and was excited to be a part of a team that values education and understanding on this overwhelming topic.

When Mel is not at the office, she is most likely at the rink, either coaching ice hockey to youth age groups or getting back on the ice herself.

Kacey Hill

Paralegal

Like many opportunities in life, the chance for Kacey to work at Law Mom was serendipitous, and she is thrilled to be here. With her background in retail banking, Kacey has seen the aftermath of improper planning and is happy to be able to help families achieve a different outcome.

Kacey holds a bachelor of science in biology from UMass Lowell and worked in a customer service capacity for 16 years before joining Law Mom. She lives in Haverhill, MA, with her fiance, Chris, and 2 rescue mutts Wyatt and Celia.

In her spare time, Kacey usually does one of the following: running, browsing a thrift store, or snuggling on the couch with her dogs.

Alyssa White

Paralegal 1

Alyssa graduated with a bachelors in Medical Radiation Sciences from the University of Vermont in May of 2023. She left a clinical concentration within her major to pursue a concentration in her passion, technical and scientific writing. In her last semester, Alyssa completed an internship at the Community Health Centers of Burlington, an independent study in technical and medical writing, and was a teaching assistant for Introduction to Scientific Writing. Alyssa’s time at the Community Health Centers of Burlington was spent researching for and writing new standard of care procedure documents for the facilities labs. As a law clerk at LawMom, Alyssa proofs documents before printing and tabbing them as well as attending and participating in client signings. Alyssa enjoys being able to utilize her detail-oriented organizational skills in her role at LawMom. Alyssa loves the team she works with here at LawMom and all that they are teaching her about estate planning. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys reading science fiction, hanging out with her dogs, Luca and Lila, her cat, Ceelo, and visiting friends.
